Spend a Day on the McKenzie River

Flowing out of ancient lava beds, the pristine McKenzie River meanders through some of the most lush and beautiful old forests in Oregon. As a class II and III river, it is appropriate for paddlers age 5 and older of any experience level. Whether you’re looking for a mild or wild adventure on the beautiful McKenzie River, Horse Creek Lodge & Outfitters can accommodate you! Experience thrilling rapids and exciting whitewater twists and turns as we make our way down to the take-out point. Your guides are well-trained and know the ins and outs of river rafting, so you’ve got nothing to worry about except having fun!

Our half-day rafting adventure provides about 10 miles of the best whitewater the McKenzie River has to offer. We’ll start the day by meeting at the McKenzie Outdoor Center at either 9:00 AM or 1:30 PM, depending on your preference. From there, you’ll meet your guides and get all the gear you need for your adventure. We’ll head to the put-in point, which is about a 5 to 10-minute drive from our initial starting point, and then start rafting! After we’ve reached the end of our 10-mile run, your guides will take you on another 5-minute drive back to the McKenzie Outdoor Center.

For a bigger adventure, consider our full-day rafting trip. You’ll enjoy 17 miles of intense whitewater, all led by your experienced guide. Lunch is included on this float trip, so you won’t go hungry on our 5 to 6-hour adventure. It’s a great opportunity for those that want to spend more time enjoying the beautiful McKenzie River.
