Our float trips are a perfect family friendly adventure and great for beginners. As long as you’re at least 5 years old, you’re more than welcome to join us!
Flowing out of ancient lava beds, the pristine McKenzie River meanders through some of the most lush and beautiful old growth forests in Oregon. As a class II and III river, it is appropriate for paddlers age 5 and older of any experience level. Our guides are well-trained and know the ins and outs of river rafting, so you have nothing to worry about except having fun! When you join us for a rafting trip, we take care of all the details. Each participant is provided with essential gear for a safe and enjoyable day on the water. Our trips include wetsuits, booties, splash jackets, personal flotation devices (PFDs), and helmets, should you choose to wear one. Plus, you won’t go hungry! Our half-day trips include delicious snacks to keep your energy up as you navigate the river’s rapids.
How Our Half Day Rafting Trips Work:
Our half-day family friendly adventure allows you to experience approximately 13 miles of the McKenzie River’s best whitewater. We kick off the day at the Upper McKenzie Community Center, where we meet at 9:00 AM or 1:30 PM during the spring and summer months, and at 11:00 AM in the fall. Upon arrival, you’ll meet your guides and receive all necessary gear.
From there, we’ll transport you to the boat launch, just a short drive through the Willamette National Forest. Once we’re at the boat launch, the excitement begins! Throughout your journey, we make several stops for swimming and sightseeing, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty surrounding the river. After a thrilling day of rafting, we’ll return to the boat ramp, where our guides will help load up the rafts. You’ll then enjoy another quick 5-minute drive back to the Upper McKenzie Community Center.
