The McKenzie River Trail (MRT) is one of the most well-loved trails in the country, and for good reason! With over 25 miles through beautiful scenery like waterfalls and lava beds, the McKenzie River Trail is ideal for mountain bikers of intermediate ability. Our shuttle is a great way to get to this amazing trail without having to worry about transporting your gear — simply meet us at Horse Creek Lodge, and we’ll help you get set up. Then, once you’re back at the end of the day, you’re welcome to wash your bike, have a hot outdoor shower, or just hang out!

How It Works

Meet us at Horse Creek Lodge, our starting point for those boarding the pre-ride or pre-hike shuttle. It’s about one mile west of the end of the McKenzie River Trail and is the first stop on our journey. Once you arrive, we’ll load up you and your bike and hit the road. You’ll be able to take the trail at your pace, but it’s typically around 5 to 6 hours total.

When you finish your ride, simply continue down the highway for one mile from the lower trailhead and take a left turn toward Horse Creek Lodge. If you’d rather reward yourself with some post-ride beer and burgers, you can also continue riding another 1/4 mile down to the McKenzie General Store. We’ll be happy to pick you up from there if you’re taking the post-ride shuttle!

Please note that riders have the option of both a pre-ride and post-ride shuttle but do not need to do both.

Excellent
#1 of 7 Specialty lodging in McKenzie Bridge

“After a recommendation from a friend on the shuttle service up to the McKenzie river trail my wife and I decided to make a short trip from Bend to ride the McKenzie river trail and stay at the lodge. We arrived in the morning and the shuttle took us and our bikes up to the top of McKenzie River trail. Shuttle driver was friendly and informed us of some of the other trails to take advantage of the next time we were in town. The trail was beautiful but a bit long and technical for my wife who was on her 2nd ride of the year on her mountain bike. We stayed in the Tamolitch Cabin. It was a perfect balance of rustic with modern amenities. The rooms and amenities were well thought out to make sure the guests had an enjoyable experience in which we did. Alyssa and here husband were there to make sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely revisit Horse Creek soon and this time stay an extra night.” — Mike T. (via Yelp)
